Spend a day learning more about Rioja, its countryside, its towns and of course its wine!
Are you interested in all things wine? Learn more about Rioja and the region where it is produced. Leave the centre of Bilbao at 9.00 a.m. and head down the road towards Vitoria. View the stunning mountain scenery as the coach climbs up to the forests of oak and beach on the plateau. On arrival in Vitoria visit the modern centre by coach. Next the coach will stop in the Old Quarter for some free time to explore the winding streets or have a coffee in one of the many cafes.
Climb back on the coach to continue through the little towns of Alvala before arriving in Laguardia y Labastida, famous on the Rioja Alavesa wine route for its magnificent wineries. Spend some time exploring its medieval streets and then perhaps have some lunch (not included). The guide will be able to suggest restaurants you'll enjoy. After the lunch break, visit a winery to taste some authentic local Rioja and then return to Bilbao centre.
