Explore a mediaeval town and the huge Basilica of Saint Francis.
Take lunch in a typical Italian restaurant.
If you wish to escape from the crowded cities and simply get lost inside the calm spirituality of nature, then this tour to Assisi is perfect for you.
Enjoy a full day in this authentic UNESCO jewel, the Medieval town on the Appennini Mountains, only 100 miles north Rome.
The tour begins with a pickup service, from 6:30 AM from the centrally located hotels of Rome. Then you will drive through the Roman countryside until you reach Assisi, where you will meet the professional guide that takes you to a walking tour to the town’s center. It’s the cradle of the Patron Saint of Italy, St. Francis, so you’ll visit the astonishing St. Francis’ Basilica, and the Romanesque Basilica of Santa Chiara as well.
You wil then have lunch and later you can enjoy some leisure time to shoot some photos of the large Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Its complex includes also the humble Porziuncola chapel and the Roseto, where St. Francis spent part of its religious life. Once the tour comes to an end, it’s time to return to Rome.
