Start your day with a real Cypriot breakfast in one of the remote mountain villages before venturing out to see the Kykkos Monastery. Explore the Kykkos Monastery, said to be the largest and most extravagant religious institution in Cyprus. It was founded about 900 years ago and set high in the hills west of the Troodos Mountains. It was built to house the Elousa icon, supposedly painted by St. Luke the Evangelist. Legend has it, that this icon is so holy that anyone who attempts to gaze upon it will be blinded in an instant. See the famous cloisters, with their colonnades, and the magnificent mosaics. You will also appreciate the timeles beauty of the villages in the surrounding area. A traditional Cypriot lunch is included on this outing.

Restrictions:Only available for those aged 16 years and over. Not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Modest clothing is required for monastery visits. Sleeveless clothing, shorts and short skirts are not allowed. The Monastery provides robes, subject to availability, at the entrance for those who are not appropriately dressed. Comfortable shoes are strongly advised.
