Sagrada Familia and Sant Pau Art Nouveau Fast Track Guided Tour with Official Guide and Entrance Fees
Sagrada Familia and Sant Pau Art Nouveau Fast Track Guided Tour - duration 3h
Tour Sagrada Familia: You will be taken to see one of Antoni Gaudi’s treasures. The famous architect Antoni Gaudí, one of the greatest innovators of his time, lived and worked in Barcelona, leaving behind a legacy of many treasures for the discerning tourist to find. The Sagrada Familia is one of the most visited buildings on earth. Be amazed at the sight of this famous church's astounding interior, boasting vaults that reach seventy metres in height. Antoni Gaudí designed a Latin cross plan, with five aisles and extremely ornate and symbolic details. You must not miss the Sagrada Familia museum, where you will see drawings, plaster models and pictures chronicling the history and development of this basilica from its early inception to the magnificent building that you can see today. You can learn all about Antoni Gaudi´s life and career in this wonderful museum.
When the tour in Sagrada Familia is over, the guide will take you to Avenida Gaudí, which runs diagonally, breaking the grid of the area that connect two of the city's main modernist monuments, the Sagrada Familia atoning Temple and the Santa Cruz and Sant Pau Modernist enclosure. You will marvel at the architectural elements of the avenue which are highlighted as you walk along this route. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk to Sant Pau.
Tour Sant Pau Art Nouveau: On a visit to the Art Nouveau Site, can appreciate Lluís Domènech i Montaner's greatest work, one of the most important architects in the period known as Modernism, the Catalan Art Nouveau, and the product of one of the most outstanding renovation processes of recent years.
The Sant Salvador Pavilion exhibition space takes you on a journey through the history of medicine in Barcelona and one of Europe’s oldest healthcare institutions: from the first unified hospital built in the city’s Raval district in 1401, La Santa Creu, to the technological miracles of the 21st century. Display cases with medical equipment and architectural materials, information panels, models and screens comprise part of the institution’s heritage collection.
You will not want to miss the building's upper floor, which concentrates particularly on the figure and work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner, exploring the three main aspects of this Modernisme genius: the scholar, the architect and the ideologue. There is also a consultation space where you can find out more information about the institution with an interactive table, books, publications and digitalised historic documents from the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau Archive.
Sant Salvador Pavilion marks the beginning of a recommended route around Art Nouveau Site outdoor spaces. These recreate the garden city model designed in the early 20th century. Admire the building’s lovely exterior as you stroll along the way. The most outstanding elements are domes, roofs, façades, sculptures and stained-glass windows.
You can also go into the Sant Rafael Pavilion and see the interior, which remains preserved exactly as it was designed at the beginning of the 20th century. As an added bonus, you can use the underground tunnels connecting the various buildings and appreciate the heritage features of the Administration Pavilion.
The recommended route can vary depending on the spaces you include on the tour.
