See the highlights of southern Italy on your first day mini-tour from Rome. You will leave by coach and head south across the regions of Lazio and Campania. You will arrive in Naples and after sightseeing in this lively city, you will travel on to Pompeii. You will stop for lunch before entering Pompeii, followed by a tour of the ruins of
the famous Roman city destroyed by the eruption Vesuvius in 79 AD. You will then leave Pompeii and be driven along the Sorrentine Coast, getting to Sorrento in time for dinner (dress code: jacket for men) and an overnight stay in your hotel.
After breakfast on the second day, you’ll take a boat trip to the island of Capri. If the weather is fine, you’ll take a boat trip to the popular and dreamlike “Grotta Azzurra” (Blue Grotto), where sunlight filters into an underwater cavity and shines through the seawater, to create magical blue reflections. When you get back to the port you’ll board a minibus for a scenic drive to Ana Capri, which is 280 meters (918 feet) above
sea level. You will enjoy splendid views of the Bay of Naples before moving on to a local restaurant for lunch. Capri is all yours to explore at your own pace, after lunch,
or you can treat yourself to a little retail therapy. Next, you'll go back to Marina Grande and the mainland to return to Sorrento for your evening meal and an overnight stay.
On the third day, you will take breakfast at the hotel followed by free time. You will return to Rome in the afternoon.
