Blue Grotto and Sunday Market at Marsaxlokk Fishing Village with Transportation
Blue Grotto and Sunday Market at Marsaxlokk Fishing Village - duration 4h
Your first stop will be the Blue Grotto, composed of several sea caverns on the southern Maltese coast. Every day from dawn until shortly after noon, the cave’s location and the sunlight combine to create a magical experience, mirroring blue light onto the grotto walls. The light varies from cavern to cavern, from the rich bright blue of pools replete with plant life to the deep blue of the darker pools.
You will be able to take a 25-minute boat tour of the caves at a small extra cost, weather permitting.
From the Blue Grotto you can move on to Marsaxlokk, a fishing village. Marsaxlokk is a very popular attraction for tourists, and beloved by locals as well due to its famous fresh seafood. The fish market is a true experience and offers many interesting things for sale, having evolved to offer local honey, jewellery, souvenirs, jams, and other produce.
